The eastern zonal branch of National Green Tribunal (NGT), on Jan 15, has opened a dedicated child play area within its office, claimed to be the first of its kind set up not only within the green tribunals across the country but also among several constitutional courts.

The facility was inaugurated by Justice Prakash Shrivastava, chairperson of NGT and his wife along with senior officials of the tribunal. Tribunal sources claim that the newly added facility affirms the green judiciary’s commitment to inclusive, gender sensitive and humane institutional practices; and in compliance with union government’s policy and Supreme Court’s order to provide childcare facilities for working women.
