Green ministry reviewed regulatory actions, inspections and compliance status of air pollution across Delhi’s national capital region (NCR).
The 138th meeting of the Enforcement Task Force (ETF) of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) was held on 31.08.2026 to review enforcement actions, inspections and compliance status across the National Capital Region (NCR) for the reporting period from 08.08.2026 to 23.08.2026.
During the reporting period of 16 days, a total of 121 inspections were carried out by the Flying Squads deployed by the Commission, covering key sectors including 10 inspections across Construction & Demolition (C&D) sites, 56 inspections across the Industrial Sector and 20 inspections related to Diesel Generator (DG) sets.
Based on the inspection reports received for reported violations, closure of 4 projects/ industries (C&D sites), sealing of 17 DG sets, issuance of 7 orders/ directions for compliance and imposition of Environmental Compensation (EC) in 5 cases have been proposed.

Ministry of earth sciences launches 2026 edition of signature sea-cleaning program; ‘Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar 2026’
Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Earth Sciences, has officially launched the 5th edition of ‘Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar 2026: SSSS v.5.0’.
Building on its success over the last four years, the initiative has transformed into a powerful grassroots movement inspired by the Swachh Bharat vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the campaign unites citizens, students, youth, coastal communities, and volunteer organisations/NGOs nationwide as part of Jan Bhagidhari to protect oceans and keep beaches pristine.
“Its “Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar 5.0” from September 12 to 19, 2026. Let’s all come together for sea beach clean-up drives, Ocean pledge, youth activities, rallies and more, to protect India’s vast and precious coastal area . “Take the pledge. Be the change. Fisheries project launched for co-operative led seaweed farming under blue economy
The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Government of India organized the launch of Fisheries Infrastructure Project under PMMSY and Multi-Dimensional Capacity Building Conclave for Co-operative Led Seaweed Farming under Blue Economy on 1st September 2026, at Kamarajar Manimadapam, Puducherry to strengthen fisheries infrastructure, promote sustainable livelihood opportunities for coastal communities, enhance value chain efficiencies and accelerate the development through a cooperative-led approach.
